Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, August 24, received the acting head of the Kherson region Vladimir Saldo in the Kremlin. The politicians discussed, among other things, the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station – as a result of an attack by the Ukrainian military, its dam was destroyed.
Balance said that the total number of victims of the tragedy at the station was 57 people.
Putin stressed that it is necessary to carefully approach each affected family – “we need to help restore housing, because well, money is money, but there are also building materials, transport, well, there are a lot of very questions, there are probably a lot of questions according to the documents.”
The Russian leader also instructed Saldo to control the issue of receiving payments by the families of those who died as a result of the emergency at the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, noting that “there are a lot of decrees, and not always everything comes through.”
Earlier, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko said that the Kakhovka HPP no longer recoverable. According to him, as a result of the explosion, 11 out of 28 spans of the upper part of the dam were destroyed. 150 tons of oil leaked from the turbine hall of the HPP.
At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defense emphasized that after the accident at the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, water for the residents of Donbass through the water pipeline from the Rostov region supplied in full.
