Puddles form and a cross lies on Urgant’s grandmother’s grave

The monument to the legendary Nina Nikolaevna has not yet been erected

In a month it will be two years since the death of the legendary actress Nina Urgant. Ivan Urgant’s grandmother found her last refuge at the Komarovskoye cemetery near St. Petersburg. According to Orthodox traditions, a monument is erected at the grave of the deceased one year after his death. But Nina Nikolaevna still doesn’t have a monument, which is why puddles constantly form.

The death of 92-year-old Nina Urgant did not come as a surprise to fans of her work. In recent years, Nina Nikolaevna was seriously ill: she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. The artist was very worried about the fact that she could not lead her usual lifestyle: walking along the streets of St. Petersburg and going on stage.

“Even the doctors can’t help me,” sighed the artist. – No cure for this disease has yet been invented.

At the Komarovskoye cemetery, where Nina Urgant is buried, outstanding people of St. Petersburg are buried. Finding the actress’s grave is not a problem: it is located not far from the main entrance to the churchyard. Visitors to the cemetery are still surprised why eminent relatives did not erect a monument.

“Ninochka’s place is a sad sight,” sighed one of the women whose relatives were buried in the cemetery. – She was a great artist: all Leningraders loved her. But the monument has been gone for two years! Go and see for yourself.

Nina Urgant’s grave was filled with concrete – apparently, it will become the foundation for a future monument. However, the concrete base turned out to be uneven, as a result of which puddles constantly form here. MK correspondents saw this with their own eyes when they came to the cemetery.

Apparently, eminent relatives rarely come to the churchyard. There are no fresh flowers on Urgant’s grave – only an artificial wreath lies. Apparently, he remained from the actress’s funeral. From the outside, the wooden cross on Urgant’s grave looked completely toppled over. Only upon closer examination did it become clear: there is simply nowhere to install it, so the cross is simply lying there. There are also two portraits of her on Nina Nikolaevna’s grave. True, they are somewhat sprinkled with sand.

By the way, the artist’s son, actor Andrei Urgant, recently admitted to MK that work on the monument is actively underway. According to the man, it will be installed as soon as the cemetery management gives the go-ahead.

“It’s still a monument, I wouldn’t want to make a blunder,” said Andrei Urgant. – There is a problem – how to transport the monument. The cemetery is very crowded. We’ll probably have to call the taps.
