Very soon 2023 will come to an end, so many have begun to sum up its results in the field of sports and achievements. In the context of international restrictions and sometimes strict bans, it is very difficult to evaluate records. It is more correct to consider the achievements of the entire industry in Russia, rather than individual athletes, said Vice-President of Synergy University, Head of the Department of Sports Management of the Faculty of Sports Industry, Doctor of Economics, Professor Vladimir Lednev.
According to MK in St. Petersburg, in October the forum “Russia – a Sports Power” was held in Perm, which assessed certain achievements and successes, and also determined strategic directions for the development of the entire sports industry. Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke at the plenary session.
“The indicators of the Strategy for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports for the period until 2030 are being met well, especially the main one – 70% of Russians should go in for sports in 2030”“, the expert shared.
He also said that the system of national competitions is being improved, especially in individual sports such as swimming, figure skating, rhythmic gymnastics, skiing, athletics, biathlon and others. The level of organization of competitions is increasing, the prize fund is growing noticeably, competitions are being shown on TV more often.
At the same time, important trends from last year still remain: new sports facilities are being introduced in the regions, the digitalization of the sports industry is rapidly developing, and the number of digital sports is increasing.
“Many Russian athletes missed the international season due to well-known restrictions and prohibitions. The IOC and many international federations show duplicity by not allowing athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in international competitions.”,” the professor clarified.
That is why Russia is forced to initiate new international competitions itself.
