Presentation of the book “Vasily Chuikov” from the ZhZL series dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad

A press conference was held at TASS, at which the author of the book, writer Nikolai Kartashov, editor-in-chief of the publishing house Maria Zalesska, historian Konstantin Zalessky and grandson of V. I. Chuikov Nikolai Chuikov spoke about the work on the publication.
During the Battle of Stalingrad, the name of the future twice Hero of the Soviet Union Marshal Vasily Chuikov and the soldiers of his 62nd Army became a symbol of the invincible Russian spirit, courage, heroism and strength of our people. Having won at Stalingrad, Chuikov with his army went further, liberated the Donbass, Ukraine, Poland and reached Berlin.
About 50 books in the Life of Remarkable People (ZhZL) series will be published by the Young Guard publishing house in 2023, including about USSR state and party leader Anastas Mikoyan and Hero of the Soviet Union Mikhail Devyatayev, editor-in-chief of the publishing house Maria said at a press conference Zalesskaya.
“We are preparing a book in the ZHZL series about Devyatayev,” Zalesska said at a press conference at TASS. We have many interesting plans for this year. In the near future, we are waiting for the biography of Anastas Mikoyan. This year we will publish at least 50 books in the ZHZL series.”
The press conference also presented books by the writer Nikolai Kartashov about Marshal Vasily Chuikov from the ZhZL series.
“The book “Vasily Chuikov” is not accidental for the publishing house. “Young Guard” has always paid tribute to the memory of the Heroes of the Great Patriotic War,” said Zalesskaya. She added that the book has been released in 3,000 copies and will go on sale in the coming days.
Kartashov also said that he was already working on a new book. “I am working on a new book about the Afghans, I have an agreement with the Young Guard,” the writer shared.
The press conference was followed by an autograph session of the writer for journalists, who were the first to receive copies of the book “Vasily Chuikov” from the ZhZL series.
