Photo exhibition “The globe of the earth remembered your name”

On September 19, the photo exhibition “The globe of the earth remembered your name” was opened on the Arbat, timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the birth of the great Muslim Magomayev.

“The globe of the earth remembered your name” – it is this line from the “Solemn Song” (music and performance – Muslim Magomayev, lyrics – Robert Rozhdestvensky) that perfectly characterizes the outstanding personality of Muslim Magomayev and our attitude towards him. His name is known to many generations in the country and far beyond its borders. His songs and melodies are still performed by famous vocalists and musicians, his charming voice echoes in our hearts with the warmth of sincerity and love.

The organizers of this unique and interesting open-air exposition were the Department of Culture of the City of Moscow, the culture.rf portal and the Muslim Magomayev Cultural and Musical Heritage Foundation. The first day of the exhibition gathered a large number of admirers of Magomayev’s talent.

Few people in the domestic pop art can compete in popularity with Muslim Magomayev, whose delightful baritone, high artistry and spiritual generosity conquered thousands of listeners. The range of its possibilities is unusually wide: from operas to musicals, from Neapolitan songs to vocal works by Azerbaijani and Russian composers. The exposition presents the history of the formation of Muslim Magomayev as a unique performer, musician and composer. His talent and artistry were laid down in early childhood by his parents, and even his grandfather, Muslim-bek Magomedovich Magomayev, whom he did not find alive, always knew that his grandson would follow in his footsteps and become a composer, conductor and pianist.

Magomayev was incredibly demanding of himself, he always wanted to be the best and the first in everything. The singer respected his audience, not allowing himself, according to eyewitnesses, to go on stage even with a slight hint of a wrinkle, and never sat down before going out to the public, so as not to wrinkle his suit in any case. He has always been a model of the finest taste and nobility. It was this determination, diligence and the ability to be bright and stylish on stage that led the young Azerbaijani singer to the most iconic concert venues not only in the Soviet Union, but also on world podiums. Another chapter of the exhibition tells about this path – from Baku to the Kremlin Palace of Congresses, and then to the European opera and variety stages. He was reciprocated for his beautiful voice and attitude – they idolized him so much that sometimes they lifted the car in which he was in his arms after the concert.

The exhibition was visited by the wife of Muslim Magomayev, a magnificent contemporary opera singer Tamara Sinyavskaya. Almost all photographs in the exhibition collected from the personal archive of Tamara Sinyavskaya and Muslim Magomayev. “Great idea! Kudos to the people who made it all. This is the very center of Moscow, this is the heart of Moscow. We were here when we were young, and we are here now. And Muslim is here. For you in pictures, for me live. A very pleasant exhibition, made with love,” Tamara Sinyavskaya noted the exposition dedicated to her legendary husband.

Tamara Sinyavskaya was the main love and muse of Muslim Magomayev, it is no coincidence that a separate chapter of the photo exhibition is dedicated to her. Songs and poems were written about their relationship, because it was Tamara who was his stage colleague, a devoted friend and the melody of love that they carried through all 35 years of their life together.

Magomayev was a passionate person, his talent was revealed not only in music, but also in painting – Muslim Magometovich drew superbly. Drawing became a necessity of his soul. Like any talented person, he could realize himself not only in his field, but also in others related to creativity. In the paintings painted by a genius, we see our favorite composers – Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Mozart, Verdi. Among other works – poets, a portrait of his wife, several landscapes. Here is a touching portrait of a pet – this is a very favorite character – Charlick the poodle.

Magomayev was great not only in music, but also in literary creativity, in acting and in friendship – how Magomayev knew how to make friends, his relatives and stage colleagues still remember.

The photo exhibition uses materials from the book “My Love is a Melody”, authored by Muslim Magomayev. Muscovites and guests of the capital liked the idea of ​​the exhibition very much: it reflects the various facets and aspects of the talent of this great man, and every fan of the musician’s work can mentally walk along the Arbat with Muslim Magomayev.
