Dmitry Peskov commented information that one of the organizers of the murder of Anna Politkovskaya, Sergei Khadzhikurbanov, who had previously received 20 years in prison, was also pardoned by the president for his participation in the SVO. Journalists asked how the Kremlin felt about the fact that participants in high-profile cases involving particularly brutal and politically motivated murders were being released, and their relatives were being deprived of the right to receive compensation.
“There is a certain practice (of pardons), which is being implemented, and there are no exceptions to it, that is, but this does not relate to the topic of the resonance of this or that case,” Peskov said, noting that in general he has nothing to add to what was said earlier on this topic. Journalists asked Peskov “where, in this case, is justice for the relatives of the victims,” who, after the pardon, stopped receiving compensation from the killers.
