Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, in an interview with aif.ru, said that any Russian athlete who condemned a special military operation for the sake of participating in the Olympics “would become a fiend,” but at the moment there is no such requirement for participation in the Games.
According to him, no one could imagine that an athlete from the Russian Federation, in order to participate in the Olympics, would sign some kind of paper condemning the SVO, “in order to sell his homeland for these pieces of silver.”
“I believe that anyone who would do this would simply become a fiend,” Peskov noted and clarified that now there seems to be no such condition.
