Pediatrician advises mothers to stop co-sleeping with their baby

Doctor of Medical Sciences, pediatrician Ismail Osmanov recommended that mothers refuse to sleep together with their child. He noted that during sleep, not everyone can control themselves.
“During sleep, a woman can perform actions that cannot be controlled. It is not uncommon for an infant to be accidentally strangled,” he said.
The expert added that the child should have its own bed, its own space. Before going to bed, he spends time with his mother, who feeds him, sings or reads a book, but then he needs to be put to his bed.
Osmanov noted that it is very important for preschool children to sleep during the day. Daytime sleep has a good effect on the child’s immunity, digestion and overall development. Children need a quiet hour right up to the start of their studies, the expert believes.
