Scientists have stopped doubting the reality of Jesus Christ, said Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’. He believes that scientists have accepted this as a fact.
“All serious scientists recognize the fact of the coming of Jesus Christ into the world,” the patriarch said after the liturgy in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. “If anyone else rejects it, it is because of illiteracy and scientific backwardness.” At the same time, “not everyone agrees that Jesus of Nazareth was Son of God,” but this is “a matter of faith, not science.”
On the day of the Council of New Martyrs and Confessors of the Church, the Russian Patriarch noted that now students are not familiar with such “completely anti-scientific and ahistorical statements.”
