At a meeting with residents of Nyagan (Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra) on Sunday, October 1, Governor Natalya Komarova said that citizens are responsible for stray animals on the streets of the region. “Animals without an owner do not appear out of nowhere. Look at yourself. And this is how you should behave, you need to strictly demand from everyone, starting with yourself. Am I going to build palaces here for homeless animals?” – said Governor Komarova, answering a question from a local resident about the problem of stray dogs on the streets of the region.

According to Natalya Komarova, a document has been approved in the region, according to which in 2025 there should be no stray animals left on the streets. Each animal must have an owner, or they will be maintained by municipalities. Mrs. Komarova called on residents of Ugra to report stray animals to veterinary services or volunteers.
