Overhaul of school No. 38 in Vladikavkaz: the impossible was done

School No. 38 in Vladikavkaz will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a major overhaul. Until that time, the building of the educational institution built in 1973 had not even seen cosmetic repairs. And only thanks to the funding allocated under the new school overhaul program, here, on an area of ​​​​about six thousand square meters, “everything was removed and redone to the brick.”

“Floors, ceilings, walls, windows, doors. All this has been replaced. The slate roof was covered with modern materials. Bathrooms, a gym, a dining room have been renovated, and it has new equipment. We have updated the furniture in the classrooms,” the director of school No. 38, Madina Slanova, listed the work performed.

This summer, they managed to repair the main building here, and the repair of the premises where the junior classes study will be completed during the holidays next year.

“At the pace at which the main building was being renovated, I think they will manage with the “head office” in a month,” says the school principal.

Slanova notes that in the education system “they did the impossible”, “they made a revolution”.

“I didn’t believe it myself, but the impossible is possible. Take and do this amount of work on time. It’s worth it,” she says.

School No. 38 in Vladikavkaz is in the top twenty of the best schools in the North Caucasus Federal District and in the top 3 in the republic in terms of the number of graduates entering the leading Russian universities. So, of the 12 “100” students who graduated from schools in North Ossetia last year, half are graduates of school No. 38.

“We are always striving to improve educational outcomes. In a completely renovated school building, teachers and students will be able to work with maximum comfort. This means that the results will be even higher,” concluded the head of the educational institution.

“This year, a federal program for the modernization of educational institutions has been launched. In North Ossetia for 2022–2023 66 schools were included in the capital renovation project. For our small republic, this is an event of unprecedented scale, given that many buildings have not been repaired since the day they were founded. In addition, schools will be equipped with new furniture and modern equipment. Some of the schools where work has been completed are already delighting children and teachers with comfortable conditions. We have also formed a proposal for 2024-2025, which includes over 60 schools. Thus, all educational organizations of the republic that need repair work will be modernized,” commented Ella Alibekova, Minister of Education and Science of North Ossetia-Alania.
