Olympic basketball champion Anatoly Polivoda died at the age of 76
Anatoly Polivoda, who won Olympic gold as a member of the USSR national basketball team in 1972, died at the age of 76.
Before the final of the Olympic tournament, Polivoda suffered a heart attack and was unable to take part. During his career, he also received Olympic bronze in 1968, became world champion in 1967 and European champion in 1967, 1969 and 1971.
The Ukrainian Basketball Federation reported the death of the athlete, without specifying its causes.
