The crew of the Falcon 10 plane that crashed in the mountains of Afghanistan survived by slightly lifting the nose of the aircraft just before the fall. Subsequently, the impact hit the middle of the fuselage and the passenger compartment. This was reported by the SHOT Telegram channel, citing aviation experts.
According to the channel, although the pilots requested to land at the Tajik Kulob airport, they still tried to find the most flat surface in the mountains for an emergency landing. It is clarified that before the crash, the pilots raised the nose of the jet by 15–20 degrees to slightly soften the impact. It is assumed that the fall could have been smoothed out by the dense snow that lay in the mountains.
It is known that two crew members, Dmitry Belyakov and Arkady Grachev, managed to survive after the crash. In addition, two doctors, Igor Syvorotkin and Pavel Popov, survived.
One of the victims was able to reach the nearest village and ask for help. All survivors are currently in hospital in Kabul.
The bodies of businessman Anatoly Evsyukov and his wife were found in the mountains. The death of two Russian citizens was confirmed by the Russian Foreign Ministry.
