Nutritionist Tikhomirova called the most harmful dish on the New Year’s table

Dietitian Elena Tikhomirova in conversation with Izvestia two weeks before the New Year’s celebrations, she warned that the most harmful dishes on the traditional Russian New Year’s table were salads with a lot of mayonnaise and boiled vegetables. However, this thesis among those put forward in the conversation may not seem the most paradoxical.
Answering the question about the most harmful, the expert actually admitted that, in general, the idea of a plentiful feast is all fundamentally harmful.
“It’s very hard to say which dish is the most harmful, because on any New Year’s table, all dishes contain a large amount of carbohydrates, fats, salt and calories,” — acknowledged Tikhomirov. Traditions are traditions, she noted, but the usual dishes for our New Year’s table, as a rule, lead to a set of extra pounds, fluid retention in the body, and hence puffiness, and, in the end, a bad mood.
However, having considered all the pros and cons, the nutritionist put salads in the first place. Moreover, as noted, almost any table salads are harmful. And in this are equal and Olivier with Caesar, and mimosa with herring under a fur coat. In second place, as expected, are lush cakes and pastries. Things are no better with hot dishes: the expert also attributed pilaf, fatty potatoes and other fried foods with a lot of batter to harmful holiday dishes.
“But, for example, barbecue is an excellent New Year’s dish,” Tikhomirova added. And many will surely agree with this.
