In the first half of 2023, the activities of 27 foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs) were deemed undesirable. During the same period in 2022, seven NGOs were declared undesirable. This was reported in the press service of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Russia.
“Decisions were made to recognize the activities of 27 (in the first half of 2022 – seven) foreign and international non-governmental organizations that threaten the security of the state as undesirable on the territory of Russia,” the agency said in a statement (quoted from “RIA News”).
Among the NGOs recognized as undesirable are Greenpeace, Transparency International, Agora International Human Rights Group, WWF, Human Rights House Foundation and others. The Prosecutor General’s Office added that the objects of special attention were NGOs, “whose activities are aimed at interfering in the internal affairs of Russia.”
