No more need to buy coal and firewood

Most new subscribers are glad that, thanks to gas, they no longer need to buy coal or firewood; they can get hot water at any time to bathe their children. But for people of art, these joys are added to others. For example, the Honored Artist of Ingushetia, member of the folk instruments orchestra of the State Philharmonic of the Republic, Khadija Bekova, now has peace of mind also because her concert instrument is safe.

“I play the accordion, and it needs special storage conditions – a stable temperature, a certain level of humidity. It would have been very difficult to achieve this without gas heating, but now there are no problems. And for creativity, a warm home atmosphere is much better, because in the cold you won’t find either mood or inspiration,” she says.

When Khadija Bekova’s family was completing the construction of their long-awaited house last spring, the question arose about installing gas communications. The local administration advised visitors that there was an opportunity to supply gas under a social program, and even agreed to accept an incomplete package of documents – the certificate of ownership was allowed to be delivered later. As the artist recalls, almost immediately after filling out the application, work began on site, and the gas workers had to work hard, since for new subscribers it was necessary to pull a supply line from a neighboring street.

“Of course, we had to fulfill our part of the obligations. We built a separate boiler room on the site and monitored compliance with all established fire safety rules. But very soon after that, gas appeared in our house. Moreover, this did not happen in an everyday way, but in the most solemn way – just in those days, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government Alexander Novak came to the republic and was shown our house among the new gasified facilities. I prepared our national dishes,

In the village of Psedakh, located in the south of the republic, they know well how much a connection to gas networks can change their lives for the better. After all, until recently, almost the entire settlement relied on stove heating.

“Until recently, my neighbor lived with a boiler heated with wood. So, during the cold season, he had no time to sleep – every hour or two at night he had to add firewood to the firebox, but even this did not help ensure stable warmth in the house,” recalls village resident Nazir Aleroev.

Nazir himself and his family had to put a lot of effort into building their own house on the provided plot of land. Initially there was no talk of a free gas connection; the family was preparing to cut their own budget in order to find money to solve the problem. However, everything changed when news came about the launch of the presidential program for additional gasification of populated areas.

“We live in the farthest part of the village, and our head of the municipality, in order to speed up the process of installing a gas line, advised us to unite with our neighbors and submit applications together. This helped a lot – within a few weeks a pipe was installed on our street. I saw how the gas guys do it – very quickly, harmoniously, clearly. Hence these results,” notes Nazir Aleroev.

Now all technical work to connect the Aleroevs’ house and their neighbors has been completed. All they have to do is register a personal account and install a counter.

The head of the family plans to do this in the coming days, after which the entire large family, which includes not only children, but also grandchildren, will be able to live in warmth and comfort all year round.

In part of the village, gas supply was already present, but the old lines were laid many years ago and their capacity has long been insufficient to meet the needs of the residents. Islam Mamergov, who at one time became the initiator of the “first wave” of gasification, faced this problem.

“The gas pipe that I laid to myself earlier could no longer cope. And this is not surprising, because five more households connected to it – it was impossible to refuse anyone, because some of those who joined were our relatives, some were simply very poor; the last one to connect was my sister’s house, and she has a child with special needs. And it turned out that everyone used gas, as they say, to the fullest, because it was no longer safe to put more pressure into this pipe,” recalls Islam Mamergov.

The opportunity to install new high-quality gas supply lines for free on Sheripova Street and its neighbors became a cause for great joy in the Mamergov family.

The caring position of the village head, who personally convinced every family in the village to submit applications and helped in their execution, helped bring the plans to life.

“It was from the chairman of the village council that we learned that such a program is already in effect. He called everyone, came to some of them himself with papers, and showed clearly what needed to be done. Literally held my hand from the beginning of the process to successful completion. Houses are already being connected, and soon gas will be everywhere, including new buildings. By the way, after the construction of the main line, the road was resurfaced with a grader – this also very well shows the responsible attitude of all those involved in the implementation of the program,” says Islam.
