Nizhny Novgorod oppositionist picked up restrictions in the case of discrediting the army

Today, October 10, the Nizhny Novgorod District Court banned oppositionist Ilya Myaskovsky from using the Internet and attending protests, as well as mail correspondence, until the issue of the criminal case of discrediting the army, in which he is being treated as a suspect, is resolved.
The criminal case against the activist was initiated on October 7 under Part 1 of Art. 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The subject of the investigation was the publication in July of photographs of anti-war graffiti in the Nizhny Novgorod Civil Movement public website. The police believe that Ilya Myaskovsky administered the page on the social network together with opposition leader Gleb Kalinychev and well-known blogger Andrey Rudy. Last week, police officers came to their apartments with an inspection as part of a pre-investigation check, which Andrey Rudoy refused and left for Kazakhstan. Ilya Myaskovsky resisted the police and was arrested for three days.
In court, the suspect asked to leave him the opportunity to use the Internet: an unemployed defendant and a former school history teacher is engaged in tutoring. Ilya Myaskovsky promised the court to refrain from opposition publications. An expert of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, a city defender Anna Davydova spoke in his support. Ms. Davydova said that Ilya Myaskovsky, as a photographer, actively helped to attract volunteers for the Tom Sawyer Fest project to restore the historical appearance of Nizhny Novgorod and restore the architectural appearance of the city.
As a result, the court upheld the arguments of the investigation. The defense is appealing the court’s decision, lawyer Alexei Matasov told Kommersant.
