New Zealand seal took over the house and kicked the cat out of it

Resident of Mount Maunganui (New Zealand) marine biologist Phil Ross told on social media that in the middle of the week his family discovered a young Navy SEAL in the living room. He managed to explore all the rooms in the house and met the owners, lying on the sofa.
His wife Jen found an unexpected visitor when she returned from the gym. Ross joked that this was the first time that his profession would be useful to the family, but he was not at home and he missed his chance.
Most likely, the seal got into the house through the door for a cat named Koko. By the way, she found him on the lawn and tried to protect the house from intrusion. But the forces were unequal.
Jenn Ross kicked the seal out of the house and called the Department of Conservation, who took the animal.
It took the cat some time to recover. She hid in the neighbors’ house, and when she returned, she did not want to go down to the first floor all day.
Phil Ross explained that young seals often find themselves on unusual stretches of coastline at this time of year. They are separated from their mother, and they begin an independent life.
“Like all teenagers, they make mistakes and end up in the wrong place,” the biologist concluded.
