Greek Andreas Pistiolis becomes the new coach of CSKA basketball
Andreas Pistiolis has been appointed head coach of the CSKA basketball club. In this post, he replaced the Macedonian Emil Rajkovic. The club’s press service reported this on Monday, April 15.
Raikovich has headed CSKA basketball since 2022. Under his leadership, the army team won bronze medals in the VTB United League last season. At the end of the regular championship of the current season, the capital club took third place. The team will meet in the first round of the playoffs with Enisey from Krasnoyarsk.
Andreas Pistiolis was born in Greece, in Athens. Pupil of Panathinaikos. Previously worked at CSKA: in 2014 he became an assistant to head coach Dimitris Itoudis.
Also over the years of his career he coached Panathinaikos (juniors and assistant), Banvit (assistant), Galatasaray.
