Named dollar exchange rate, which will force migrants to leave Russia

Managing Partner of Rusyaev & Partners, lawyer Ilya Rusyaev told aif.ruthat a mass exodus of migrants from Russia may begin at a dollar exchange rate of 120 to 150 rubles. According to him, the current quotes still remain attractive for working in the Russian Federation, and besides, citizens of the CIS do not need a visa to travel to the country, and Russian culture is more or less understandable to them.

As Rusyaev noted, if 3-4 million migrants leave, then Russia will face the risk of losing up to 4% of GDP. Particularly acute, according to the lawyer, the shortage will manifest itself in sectors with 30% of the employment of visitors, namely in construction, housing and communal services and the service sector. He clarified that it is extremely difficult for Russians to fill this niche in the context of a demographic decline.

Rusyaev believes that China or the United Arab Emirates (UAE) can become alternative countries for employment. However, the lawyer noted that both countries have their own characteristics and restrictions on attracting foreign labor, that is, a migrant from Uzbekistan will not be able to just get on a plane, fly to Dubai and start building skyscrapers there. The expert added that this will slow down the outflow of workers from the Russian Federation.
