Naki and Leviev sentenced to 11 years in absentia in the case of fakes about the army

The Basmanny District Court of Moscow sentenced in absentia journalist Michael Naki and investigator Ruslan Leviev (Karpuk; both recognized as foreign agents) to 11 years in prison each in the case of fakes about the Russian army, Mediazona reported (recognized as a media foreign agent). accusation requested for them 13 years in prison.
Mr. Leviev is the founder of the Conflict Intelligence Team (recognized as undesirable in the Russian Federation), together with Mr. Naki, they issued daily reports on the Russian military operation in Ukraine. The case against them under Art. 207.3 part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation was initiated spring 2022. The verdicts were handed down in absentia, since both journalists are outside Russia.
