Musk announces first flight of super-heavy Starship rocket

SpaceX founder Elon Musk has announced that the first launch of the super-heavy Starship rocket is being prepared. It is being developed for manned missions to the Moon and Mars.

“Starship is getting ready to launch,” Musk tweeted, attaching a video of the spacecraft. He later added that

the rocket is ready to launch next week but is awaiting regulatory approval. The US Federal Aviation Administration notified that the first flight of the rocket could take place on Monday, April 10.

It is planned to launch from the SpaceX launch pad in Texas. As part of the test flight, the rocket must complete one revolution around the Earth.

The Starship reusable rocket system consists of the Ship 24 spacecraft and the Super Heavy carrier. It reaches a height of 120 m and is the tallest rocket in the world.
