It’s time for motorists to change their winter tires to summer tires – this is the advice given to drivers by the press service of the Moscow Department of Transport.
It’s warm in the Russian capital—the thermometer doesn’t drop to zero even at night, which means it’s time to change your shoes, the department called. Changing the type of tire will help avoid accidents and rapid tire wear.
Thus, it is noted that the disadvantage of traveling on winter tires in the warm season is poor grip. At above-zero temperatures, soft tires soften even more, and the braking distance is longer, the department listed the main factors that will make it more difficult to stop abruptly on dry asphalt.
