From August 15, real transactions with the digital ruble for individuals and legal entities will begin in Russia. Its mass introduction is planned for 2025. As shown survey VTsIOM, every seventh Russian (15%) is aware of this. Another 55% heard something, and 30% learned for the first time during the survey. At the same time, most Russians would not like to try out the digital analogue of cash themselves. Only a third of the respondents (30%) showed interest in the new means of payment to some extent.

As the survey showed, a significant proportion of Russians have not yet formed an understanding of the purpose of introducing a digital ruble. Every second found it difficult to answer the question why he is needed. Among those who gave a meaningful answer, the majority (22%) named transparency and security of money transactions as the main goals. 8% of respondents saw negative trends in the innovation (fraud, deceit, population control).
