The main motivation for increasing labor productivity for working Russians is financial, showed survey VTsIOM. Slightly less than every second respondent said that they would work better if their salary were raised (45%). In second place among popular answers is also the material factor – the value of the money earned (25%). Other motives were mentioned less frequently, including the introduction of new technologies, improvement of work organization and respect for its results.

At the same time, the majority of respondents do not believe that their salaries will increase if they work more or at a higher quality level. VTsIOM experts explain this by various factors, from an opaque and biased wage system to wage growth lagging behind the inflation rate.
