Moscow schoolchildren are invited to the Olympiad in robotics

The Center for Pedagogical Excellence announced the start of registration of Moscow schoolchildren for the qualifying round of the Olympiad in Robotics. The competition itself will be held from January 20 to 28 in full-time format. And you can register for it and choose a “participation point”, that is, a school where the registered team will perform tasks, at website.

The Olympiad is designed for students in grades 4-11, so the organizers announced that they would divide the participants into three age groups – junior, middle and senior. According to the organizers of the competition, each age group has its own tasks that correspond to the knowledge and skills of the children. For example, participants in the younger group will have to solve problems related to programming on educational computers. For schoolchildren from the middle age group, tasks were prepared aimed at working with an array of data, as well as manipulators with several degrees of freedom. The guys from the older group will work with graphs, trigonometry and complex navigation.

As the methodologist of the Center for Pedagogical Excellence Sergey Mustafin noted, those teams that score more than 75 percent of points for the task will be invited to the final of the Olympiad. And the reward will be received by everyone who successfully copes with the task.

– Thus, the guys will not compete with each other, – said Sergey Mustafin. – The ability to solve the problem will become valuable, and not the speed with which it will be done. The CPM Robotics Olympiad is more like a test: everyone who succeeds gets a good grade.
