In the Russian capital record broken snow depth – it reached 39 cm at the VDNKh base weather station, which is an unprecedented value for December 16.

This was stated by the leading specialist of the Phobos weather center, Mikhail Leus. The forecaster pointed out: the previous record for December 16 was recorded in 1919. At that time, the height of the snow cover reached 33 cm.

Due to the thaw and significant dead weight, the height of snowdrifts in Moscow is forecast to decrease in the coming days.
