The Fund for Support of Participants in the Special Military Operation “Defenders of the Fatherland” sent 3 thousand sets of documents to the Ministry of Defense commission for issuing certificates of combat veterans to the fighters of the Wagner PMC. To date, 452 have been approved, said the head of public projects of the foundation, Mikhail Artamonov, at the “Immortal Regiment of Russia” forum.

“Next week in Moscow and St. Petersburg, participants in the most famous private military company will be awarded about 250 certificates of combat veterans, and this gives them new opportunities, this gives them the understanding that they did not do it in vain,” Mr. Artamonov said during forum (quote from TASS).

Since the creation of the fund in June, Mikhail Artamonov said, about 46 thousand requests have been received with a request to issue certificates for combat veterans. Approximately half of the applications were approved. In total, the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation received 450 thousand requests on various issues.

The first certificates of combat veterans were awarded to the fighters of the Wagner PMC on November 14. At the end of November, the chairman of the fund, Anna Tsivileva reported on the issuance of about 300 certificates to participants in a private military company. In total, several thousand PMC fighters applied for certificates.

Applications sent by the fund are reviewed by a specialized commission of the military department. About her creation to issue certificates to fighters of the Wagner PMC became known in October. The commission was created on the initiative of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation.
