Moscow authorities clarified the situation with the closure of two metro stations on the BKL

The existing branch from the Big Circle Line (BKL) of the metro, including the Delovoy Tsentr and Shelepikha stations, may be included in the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line under construction, the press service of the Moscow Department of Transport told Kommersant. This is incorporated in one of the “promising options for the development of the rail frame in Moscow,” the department said.
On March 9, information appeared in a number of media and Telegram channels about the possible closure of two BCL stations in September 2023 for two years. “The work plan is not yet ready, so it is premature to talk about the timing of changing the operating mode of the stations,” the Moscow Department of Transport said. “Please be guided by reliable information from official sources.”
Earlier, the Moscow construction complex announced plans to switch the Delovoy-Tsentr-Shelepikha section from the BKL to the Rublevo-Arkhangelskaya line. According to the official map long-term development of the metro until 2030, a transfer from the BKL to a new branch is planned at the Narodnoye militia station.
The construction of the BKL began in 2011, the first section was opened in 2018. On March 1, 2023, President Vladimir Putin and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin launched traffic on the last sections of the BCL, thus closing the ring.
