Moscow attacked by giant Spanish slugs

Moscow has been flooded with giant Spanish slugs, writes the Telegram channel Newsach/Dvach.
As noted, large red clams are increasingly common in the city. They do not pose a direct danger to humans, since they cannot bite and are not poisonous. But after contact with them, it is better to wash your hands, otherwise there is a risk of contracting helminths.
The report says that such slugs pose the greatest danger to summer residents, since they can eat everything in their path. Experts recommend simply collecting slugs in a bucket while wearing gloves.
Spanish slugs are a random population brought to the territory of Moscow. They were brought, presumably, with consignments of fruits and vegetables from Europe. Some of the slugs could get into nature from home terrariums. These molluscs are gluttonous, actively breed and threaten the harvest of vegetables and fruits. Due to their omnivorous nature, slugs can carry parasites, viruses, and bacteria, including meningitis. At the same time, slugs spread rapidly due to hermaphroditism and the absence of natural enemies – neither birds, nor hedgehogs, nor other animals eat them due to the fact that their mucus has an irritating effect.
