Insurance pensions for non-working pensioners will be indexed twice in 2025, excluding January indexation
In 2025, insurance pensions for non-working pensioners will be indexed twice, but traditional indexation is not expected in January, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.
According to the law on the budget of the Social Fund for 2023-2025, from January 1, 2024, insurance pensions will increase by 4.6%, from February 1, 2025 – by 4%, and from April 1, 2025 – by 3.6%.
As Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labour, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, deputy head of the LDPR faction, Yaroslav Nilov, explained to the publication, there will be a transitional period until 2025, during which insurance pensions for non-working pensioners will increase by a certain index, but not less than 1,000 rubles. in year.
Indexation until 2025 will be carried out from January 1. After the end of the transition period, pensions will begin to increase by the actual inflation for the previous year, and the first data on it will appear at the beginning of the new year. Therefore, pensions will be increased first from February 1, and then a second adjustment is planned in April.
At the moment, the figures for the increase in pensions in 2025 are in line with basic inflation forecasts, but adjustments are possible.
In June 2022, an intermediate indexation of pensions by 10% was carried out, and the average old-age insurance pension is now 22,000 rubles.
