From January 9 to February 11, “Digital Educational Education” lessons were held in Russian schools. The organizers were ANO “Digital Economy” with the support of the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, the Russian Ministry of Education in partnership with the Sberbank Charitable Foundation “Investment in the Future”. More than 623 thousand Russian schoolchildren took part in digital literacy lessons. The largest number of participants were from the Rostov region – 64 thousand, Samara – 63.7 thousand, Novosibirsk – 57.3 thousand regions, as well as from the Perm Territory – 42.1 thousand, and the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – 23.4 thousand people
The Foundation’s specialists have prepared methodological materials for conducting an interactive school lesson for children over 12 years old on 4 current topics: information noise, deepfakes, digital footprints and culture of working with data. Each lesson is accompanied by a video with colorful characters who, using their own example, talk about interaction with the digital environment.
“Digital educational program is not just teaching computer literacy, it is forming the foundations of digital culture, which is becoming an integral part of modern life. Classes develop communication skills, teach critical thinking and form responsible behavior in the online environment. Digital technologies have a direct impact on the process of socialization of a child and therefore it is important to develop such skills from an early age,” says Petr Polozhevets, Executive Director of the “Investment in the Future” Charitable Foundation.
