In Moscow, three new metro lines are planned to be opened by 2030 – Troitskaya, Rublevo-Arkhangelskaya and Biryulyovskaya, said the mayor of the capital Sergei Sobyanin. In addition, over six years, 39 new metro stations and 9 new or reconstructed MCD stations will appear in Moscow.
Sergei Sobyanin noted that the development of the transport system will affect not only Moscow, but also the Moscow region and surrounding regions. Thus, by 2030, clocked train traffic will be organized throughout the entire Central Transport Hub. Trains connecting Moscow with regional centers and the largest cities of Central Russia will run six times more often. In addition, 125 MCD and MCC stations will be reconstructed.
“We will make a decision to include the Yaroslavl and Paveletsky railway lines in the tariff system of Moscow transport. There are 39 stations in total. As a result, the Moscow transport ticket system will cover all suburban destinations. This will allow passengers to make decisions about their route based on time and convenience, rather than the cost of travel,” says the personal blog mayor.
The Moscow metro opened in 1935. Together with the Moscow Central Circle and the four Moscow Central Diameters, the rail system includes 393 stations. At the end of December 2023, Mr. Sobyanin announced about plans to extend the Moscow Central Diameters to Tula, Kaluga, Tver and other large regional centers.
