Doctors, in an open letter to President Vladimir Putin, asked to release St. Petersburg artist Sasha Skochilenko from the colony because she has health problems. November 16 court sentenced a girl to seven years in prison in the case of fakes about the RF Armed Forces. At the moment the letter signed 175 doctors.
Doctors are concerned about the health condition of Sasha Skochilenko. “She has been diagnosed with a number of severe chronic diseases that require proper medical supervision and a special diet. Staying in a colony could lead to a significant deterioration in Sasha’s health,” the open letter says.
Defense of Sasha Skochilenko provided in court documents about the girl having a heart defect, bipolar disorder and celiac disease (gluten intolerance, which requires a special diet).
According to doctors, the artist’s sentence seems “especially unfair” against the backdrop of news about the parole of prisoners who have committed serious crimes, such as rape and murder.
Vasileostrovsky court admitted Sasha Skochilenko is guilty of an article under Art. 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public dissemination of knowingly false information about the use of the RF Armed Forces). The court also banned her from administering websites for three years.
The basis for the case was an action held in March 2022. Sasha Skochilenko replaced five price tags in the store with leaflets with information about military operations on the territory of Ukraine. The artist has been in jail since April 2022. At her sentencing in court was director Alexander Sokurov.
More details in the material “The price tags were estimated at seven years”.
