“Forced artificial insemination of women”: the struggle for demography has reached the point of psychosis

This marathon was opened by our main spiritual authority, Patriarch Kirill, who found – so it seems to him, at least – the key to solving the problem: “If we learn to dissuade women from having abortions, the statistics will immediately go up.” The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church called on the Russian authorities to extend to the entire country the initiative of Mordovia, which established administrative responsibility for inducing women to undergo abortion.

Then the Federation Council joined the campaign. Senator Olga Kovitidi fully approved the idea of ​​​​establishing liability for bad influence on pregnant women, but with the amendment that “administrative punishment” is too lenient a punishment for this. According to Kovitidi, the act should be “criminalized” by amending and supplementing the Criminal Code accordingly.

Kovitidi’s colleague in the upper house Margarita Pavlova came from a slightly different end. The senator is convinced of the need to revise the value system: “We need to stop focusing girls on getting higher education. We need to stop producing young people who get higher education… The search for oneself, it drags on for many years, and as a result, this reproductive function is missed.”

The same idea was expressed even more clearly by Maria Vedunova, director of the Institute of Biology and Biomedicine of Nizhny Novgorod State University named after Lobachevsky: “Humanity made a huge mistake when it gave women the opportunity to receive an education… This is the death of our culture, the death of our civilization.”

Philosopher Alexander Dugin could not help but speak out on this topic: “The settlement of megacities… is the only path to demographic growth. No one will really give birth to children in the concrete urban jungle. Despite any maternal capital. Children are born on the ground. “This involves not only the parents themselves, but God, the race and the living world, that is, the Earth. The Earth is the recipient of babies, their Nurse.”

But first place in the ranking of ideas expressed during the “demographic” week undoubtedly belongs to State Duma deputy from the LDPR Valery Seleznev. The deputy proposed to improve the demographics at the expense of female prisoners: “There are about 45 thousand women in Russian prisons, most of whom are serving minor, often economic charges. Many of these women are capable of giving birth to children.

The state can also offer them a kind of deal in which the woman’s term of serving her sentence is interrupted and if she gives birth during such a “leave,” the remainder of the term is canceled. This approach solves several problems at once: demographic and social-humanitarian.”

Some may see Seleznev’s first place as an unfair, overestimated assessment, since the deprivation of women’s access to higher education, the resettlement of cities, and the fight against abortion look much larger. Here we are talking about the entire power, and not just about places not so remote. But all this was already in the past. For example, until 1920, abortion was considered a criminal offense in Russia.

As for resettlement, by historical standards this was quite recent. True, not ours: the idea belongs to the Cambodian Khmer Rouge, Pol Pot and his minions. True, this had a negative impact on demography, it should be noted: being deported to the countryside, former city dwellers, instead of intensively reproducing, began to die like flies. The number of victims of the genocide of their own people carried out by the Pol Potites reaches, according to some estimates, up to three million.

In short, nothing original. Deputy Seleznev’s proposal is a completely different matter. The idea, however, is crude and underdeveloped. Will the prisoners released on leave have time to find a partner during this, presumably, not too long period? And will they even search? Maybe they’ll just go out for a walk. And what the hell, they’ll run away.

In general, this cannot be left to chance. The idea requires development. Organizing, for example, special insemination points – the population of male zones can be involved in this important mission – and, accordingly, sending women not on vacation, but, so to speak, on a “passing” business trip. To be sure, for a 100% “fly in”, it is better, of course, to send under escort.

It would also not hurt to increase the amount of human material – the current one is clearly not enough for such an interesting social experiment: 45 thousand prisoners, as they say, will not make the demographics. Now, if we could increase the contingent by at least 10-20 times… And don’t say that this is impossible. As Comrade Stalin once said: “There are no fortresses that the Bolsheviks could not take.”

But by and large, this is a half measure. In an amicable way, if there was such a binge, such a struggle for demography, the elements of the proposed formula should be rearranged: not to be released for pregnancy, but, on the contrary, to be imprisoned for the absence of it – without medical certificates justifying the unfertilized womb. She didn’t give birth, or she gave birth too little, too late, she didn’t help the state adequately improve the demographic situation – atone for the guilt to the state on the construction sites of state capitalism.

But let’s not be too picky about the deputy. In any case, the freshness of thought is evident. Neither the aforementioned Comrade Stalin with his Gulag, nor even Genosse Hitler with his concentration camps thought of involving prisoners in solving the demographic problem.

True, the Fuhrer had a “Lebensborn” program (translated from German as “the source of life”), aimed at increasing the number of “racially pure” Reichsburgers. But even there, reproduction went on, albeit under the supervision of the SS, but still not in dungeons.

However, to be fair, although Seleznev was the first politician to propose “prison” know-how, he cannot be considered a pioneer in the full, absolute sense. There is nothing new under the sun.

This is a quote from the novel “The Hour of the Ox” by Soviet science fiction writer Ivan Efremov, written in 1968 and first published (in full) in 1970. The novel describes the acquaintance of the crew of the starship “Dark Flame” with the strange civilization of the planet Tormans, inhabited by the descendants of earthlings who left their home planet in immemorial pre-communist times.

By the time the earthlings arrived at Tormans, such methods of improving the demographic situation were no longer practiced there. But by the standards of the communist Earth of the future, the order on the planet still remained wild: “All the time there was a silent struggle between women who did not want to give birth, and the state that prohibited contraceptives and abortions. To raise the falling birth rate, the rulers recently awarded mothers with some privileges. The case the fact that there was a threat of a decrease in the number of people, so tangible that the rulers began to worry about it: obedient crowds are the support of the oligarchy.”

In short, the science fiction writer had a rich imagination. But, as we see, there are no such terrible fairy tales that our deputies, senators and other guardians of the people’s welfare could not turn into reality.
