A team of climbers from Mongolia (D. Otgonkhuu, Ts. Usukhjargal and L. Purevsuren) began climbing Everest today. For the first time among Mongolian climbers, they are storming the “roof of the world” without oxygen or a guide, MONTSAME reported.
Three climbers intend to complete their ascent to the eight-thousander on June 1. Athletes will carry their own tent, supplies and equipment after base camp.
According to statistics, 6,664 climbers have reached the summit of Everest, but only 221 of them without using supplemental oxygen.
