Mobilized man convicted in Irkutsk for leaving military unit – Kommersant

The Irkutsk garrison military court passed a guilty verdict on the mobilized Konstantin Zausaev. As reported in Telegram channel Second Eastern District Military Court, he was assigned two years in a penal colony. The verdict did not enter into force.
“On January 16, 2023, in order to temporarily evade military service, a serviceman arbitrarily left the location of the military unit without good reason. After that, on February 13, he voluntarily arrived at the military commissariat, ”the message says.
According to information published on the website of the Irkutsk garrison military court, the verdict was passed on April 26 under Part 3.1 of Art. 337 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (unauthorized abandonment of a unit or place of service).
