Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a government decree that establishes that normative dictionaries are republished at least once every five years. However, they will be distributed electronically. The document was published on the official Internet portal legal information.
The normative dictionary, according to the document, is the main source of information about the norms of the modern Russian literary language. It will be presented in the form of a comprehensive publication, which, among other things, will include a list of foreign words that have no analogues in the Russian language. Also, the dictionaries will indicate the words, the use of which is prohibited in areas where the use of the state language is mandatory.
February 28 Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law prohibiting the use of foreign words in cases where the Russian language is required. The only exceptions are those words that have no analogues in Russian. The government must approve the normative dictionaries in which these words are indicated on the basis of the proposals of the commission on the Russian language.
