“We dreamed of getting to the sea as soon as possible, but instead we spent half a day in the heat in a wild traffic jam,” this is perhaps the most common confession of vacationers who were trapped in a transport trap in front of the Crimean bridge.

The transport collapse of the cars of vacationers who travel to the Crimean peninsula from the Krasnodar Territory began on Saturday. On Monday morning, the traffic jam stretched for 13 kilometers, waiting in it stretches for 5 hours or more. In the heat, not only car engines boil, but also people’s emotions. Here’s what the eyewitnesses of this test are not for the faint of heart.

Margot with her husband and Labradors Manya and Bonya arrived at the beginning of the traffic jam at 7 am and only after two days did they manage to get to the inspection point.

“Seven hours in unbearable heat, I still don’t understand how we survived! The dogs were baked already in the first two hours of this hell, I thought they would have a heat stroke, you can’t keep the air conditioner constantly on in a traffic jam, the engine might overheat. And as soon as you turn it off, the temperature in the cabin immediately rises to 50 degrees! ”, The woman tells about her experiences.

According to her, she and her husband went to the Crimea by car only because of the dogs, and now they are afraid that they could seriously harm their pets.

“We have a favorite place near Feodosia, we have been relaxing there for many years, and we always take labriks with us. This year we decided not to change this tradition, although we were warned by acquaintances who also went to Crimea for the May holidays that because of last year’s terrorist attack, all cars are carefully inspected, therefore, in order not to get into such a traffic jam, you need to try to get to the bridge at night or early in the morning. We did just that, everyone calculated to drive up to the inspection point at 7 in the morning, but in practice we ended up in a multi-kilometer queue. None of the life hacks shared by the poor fellows like us work. You can drive up even in the morning, even at night, and you still stand your 5-7 hours in the heat, ”the tourist sums up.

This is not to say that the local authorities do not show any interest in the unfortunate car travelers. In the Temryuk district of the Krasnodar Territory, volunteers, rescuers, and the Ministry of Emergency Situations are trying to help them. Some distribute water, others provide first aid, for some drivers they even have to call an ambulance – this is such an unfortunate start to the holiday. But neither the distribution of free water, nor the booths of dry closets, which cannot be entered without a gas mask, solve the main problem – the traffic jam does not move faster.

“The speed of passing through the inspection depends directly on the number of things that people are taking on vacation, you need to travel light, then you won’t have to queue for hours,” advises one of the volunteers in a chat organized by unfortunate motorists who fell into a transport trap in front of the Crimean bridge.

Heat-exhausted people immediately enter into controversy with him: “Don’t blame it on a healthy head! Manual inspection lasts 5-10 minutes, x-rays, of course, wait longer, but you don’t need to shake all things out of the car. And the trouble is that they only inspect 5-6 cars at a time. Was it really impossible to foresee in advance that during the holiday season there would be a large flow of transport, and to increase the number of employees conducting the inspection of things?

The problem is also that the local authorities have to deal with angry travelers, and it is not they who are responsible for the inspection on the Crimean bridge, but the Russian Ministry of Transport. And the employees of this department are far away, in Moscow, and their entire contribution to the resolution of the transport collapse consists in the publication of belated advice on how it is more convenient to pass through the inspection, which, moreover, do not work.

“There are two queues in front of the Crimean bridge: for manual inspection and for a scanner. The first one goes faster, but you need to completely unload all things from the car, get out yourself and take the animals out. When the car passes through the scanner, it does not need to be unloaded,” says another traveler from Moscow, Vadim.

According to him, there is a controller in front of the bridge. It regulates the flow of cars – if you were sent to the “red” point, then the check will be carried out by a scanner, to the “green” point – in manual mode, but those who have few things are mainly sent here.

“This is generally reasonable, because with a manual search, if there are a lot of things, then the procedure can stretch for hours. You have to open the whole car: windows, doors, hood and trunk. All bags are taken out and shaken. They even check the spare wheel, floor mats. And from below, the bottom of the car is examined through the mirrors. If there are a lot of things, then you can go crazy from all this (unload-load). One woman in my presence almost forgot her dog in the carrier. Many cell phones and documents are left behind when they pass through the frame. In general, you can also sympathize with the employees of the inspection points – not everyone is able to work in such a hell, ”says Vadim.

Only one thing saves in such a situation – the hope that the traffic jam will eventually end, and the Crimea, the sea and the long-awaited vacation are waiting for everyone. And, of course, our national character trait is to help everyone – the ability to look at the situation with humor, for example, as the author of this message from the chat: “I will sell a car at the end of the line – it’s not beaten, it’s not beautiful, I’ll buy any closer to the bridge.”
