Ponkin from 1997 to 2011 worked in the Russian office of the company Ericsson, from 2011 to 2013 he was involved in the development of investment projects at Aist-invest, and from 2013 to 2018 he held senior positions in the Ministry of Communications. Then, until the spring of 2021, he was the director of the project management department at NPK Kryptonit.
In April 2021, he returned to the Ministry of Digital Transformation as director of the department for stimulating demand for radio-electronic products.
From the information on the income of civil servants published on the website of the Ministry of Digital Development, it follows that in 2021 Ponkin earned 23.45 million rubles. The official was also included in the CNews rating on income of the heads of the Ministry of Digital Development and Roskomnadzor for 2021, compiled on the basis of open data published on the website of the department.
According to these data, Ponkin owns three land plots with a total area of 46,440 sq. m, of which two plots with a total area of 45,200 sq. m are agricultural land. Ponkin also has a house with an area of 288 sq. In addition, Ponkin owns seven vehicles, including five Porsches.
