The EOS-2 and AzaadiSAT satellites launched into orbit on Sunday by India’s Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) have been lost. Soon they will descend from orbit, said the head of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Sri Somanath.

And when it reached an orbit with a height of 356 km, there was a separation of satellites – EOS-2 and AzaadiSAT. “Subsequently, we noticed an anomaly in the launching of satellites into orbit,” he described the process and identified the main reason for Somanat. “The vehicles were put into an elliptical orbit instead of a circular orbit.” Experts plan to investigate in detail the cause of the anomaly in order to make adjustments to the next rocket launches.
Satellites, according to the head of ISRO, will not be able to stay in orbit for a long time and gradually descend from it, then to return to the atmosphere. “The vehicles can no longer be used,” the Indian space agency said in a statement.
The rocket was launched from the launch site of the Satish Dhawan Space Center, which is located on the island of Sriharikota. Later, the Indian Space Research Organization reported that the rocket was unable to put the vehicles into a given orbit.
