American corporation Microsoft announced about the termination of the WordPad text editor soon. The application has not been updated for a long time and will be removed in one of the future Windows updates.
The WordPad application has been installed with the Windows operating system since 1995, users got the opportunity to remove it only in February 2020 – for this they had to use the control panel. The application is a simple text editor with rich text, you can also insert links and files into it. Microsoft advises users to use Microsoft Word for .doc and .rtf rich text documents and Notepad for .txt notes.
Previously, Microsoft started test video capture with Scissors and autosave with Notepad, as well as a new Windows 11 Settings homepage that will adapt under the user.
