Miami Herald: 7,000-year-old artifacts can be poured with concrete

For the past year and a half, American archaeologists carry out on the section of the Miami River excavations. Thousands of prehistoric finds were discovered at the site where it was planned to build the Relationship residential complex – the remains of people, animals and ancient buildings. The relics date back to the earliest days of civilization.

Independent scientists say they have found spearheads that are seven thousand years old. This discovery is the most significant in the last quarter of a century.

Archaeologist and head of the anthropology department at the University of Miami, William Pestle, said that the objects found can be compared in time with the emergence of the first cities in Mesopotamia.

“This is thousands of years before the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire. By any measure, this is almost the earliest manifestation of human activity,” the expert emphasized.

The excavations have not yet been completed, but it is already clear that the objects found will force anthropologists and historians to rethink the development of the prehistoric indigenous peoples of the Americas.

But few people know about the discoveries made, and the lack of publicity threatens the very existence of rarities. The Related Group company is able to fill the excavation site with concrete and build a skyscraper at the site.

It is believed that the city authorities and the developer will soon begin a campaign to reduce the importance of artifacts in order to freely use the expensive land.

In the past, only public outcry and litigation helped save the Miami Circle antiquities in 1999.
