The national team was determined in the qualifying competitions Zaporozhye area in the discipline “sports programming”.

On March 27, the Melitopol State University hosted an award ceremony for the winners of qualifying competitions in sports programming for the Zaporozhye region national team.

More than 100 athletes from MelGU and Azov National Pedagogical University took part in the competition. The athletes faced off in a tense confrontation, because, in addition to the classical scoring system, they had to resort to a rating of answers.
Based on the results of the assessment, the best of the best will be included in the national team and will represent the Zaporozhye region at interregional and federal competitions.

Chairman of the Federation of Sports Programming Dmitry Bukleyev and representatives of the regional branch presented awards to the winners.

“Today the path to the development of sports programming in the region has begun. I would like to believe that today’s success is only the first step, compared to the future successes of our players at the federal level. I sincerely wish everyone not to slow down and continue to confidently move towards their dreams. We know that our guys will succeed, and they will continue to work hard to make their dreams come true!” said Dmitry Bukleyev, summing up the results of the award ceremony.

The Ministry of Sports Tourism of the Zaporozhye region thanks Melitopol State University, as well as the Department of Applied Mathematics and IT for their assistance in organizing and holding this event.

Sports programming continues to gain popularity in the Russian Federation. Tournament participants solve algorithmic problems by asking the robots a certain sequence of actions. Coders write code that allows the machine to independently determine the best path through an obstacle course. These competitions attract more and more participants every year. Last year their number already exceeded 4,000.
