During the winter break at the PARI-Russian Rugby Championship, it became known that the elite division would be missing one participant in the spring. The list of participants in the elite division left RK Khimik from Dzerzhinsk, which debuted in 2022. The Black and Greens are a young club that played only one year in the Major League, and then immediately moved to the elite. The transition to the PARI-Russian Championship cannot be called successful. In 1.5 seasons of the Russian Championship, Khimik was unable to win and scored only 2 points, settling in last position.

In the winter of 2024, the management of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Khimik” announced that the team was withdrawing from the PARI-Russian Championship and being demoted in class. Sponsorship investments did not justify themselves. Khimik had no sports results and no interest from fans who love football more. The Black and Greens will not start the season in May, and there are only 8 teams left in the Russian Championship. Most of the players left Khimik and found new clubs. There are also those who remained. They will perform at a weaker level and wait until Khimik is ready to return to the elite.

General Director of RK Khimik Ivan Rumyantsev spoke about the team’s immediate plans.

“An unsatisfactory sports result does not negate the fact that the team’s participation in the Chechen Rugby Championship, although hasty, gave us invaluable experience that will be used in our further work on the development of rugby in the Nizhny Novgorod region,” said Ivan.
