Medvedev: more than 3/4 of migrant children do not know Russian well – this is a serious problem
Dmitry Medvedev, deputy head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, said that more than three-quarters of underage migrants in the Russian Federation do not know Russian well.
This is evidenced by selective diagnostics. “It’s probably not always their fault. – said the ex-president of Russia at a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission of the Security Council of the Russian Federation on improving migration policy. “In the families of visitors, they usually speak their native language.” Many migrants, as he noted, live in closed communities, which “does not contribute to the spread of the Russian language among them.”
The level of knowledge of migrant children, as Medvedev stressed, should be sufficient for mastering educational programs in our country.
Teaching Russian is very important, he believes. Work in this direction is underway, but “problems, nevertheless, remain serious,” Medvedev stated.
