Putin instructed to return drawing to schools from the fall of 2024 – Kommersant

At a meeting of the Presidium of the State Council, President Vladimir Putin instructed to return the teaching of drawing in schools, as well as in the technological (engineering) profile of colleges and technical schools. According to the order, drawing will be taught in the next academic year (2024/25).

IN disposal The president says that the decision was made “in order to strengthen the personnel potential of the industry.” The government is responsible for the implementation of the order, it must submit its proposals to the president on August 1, 2023.

In Soviet schools, drawing has been studied as a separate subject since the 1930s. In the 2000s, it was taught in the ninth grade and only one hour per week. Then the subject became optional. Officially, drawing was excluded from the school curriculum in 2019.

April 4 Vladimir Putin I arrived to a factory in Tula, where he met with the governor of the Tula region Alexander Dyumin. The governor called drawing “the beginning of the basics of engineering knowledge” and asked the president to return this subject to schools.
