Maternity leave is not just a woman’s business

As shown survey NAFI, two-thirds of respondents somewhat or completely disagree with the statement that a man is ashamed to take maternity leave (child care leave). Among women there are more opponents of this statement than among men themselves (72% versus 57%).
Most of those who agree with the statement that male maternity leave is shameful are in the middle age group, from 35 to 44 years old (29%). The smallest number is among young people (under 24 years old) and older people (55+) – 24% and 25%, respectively. It can be stated that in all age groups in Russia there is a predominantly positive attitude towards the fact that men can take parental leave.
