The man who attacked the house of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was an active conspiracy theorist, local media reported.
Earlier it became known that an unknown person attacked Pelosi’s house and wounded her husband with a hammer. The attacker, who was detained in hot pursuit, was identified as 42-year-old Canadian native David DePape. Pelosi herself was in Washington at the time.
The detainee was reportedly extremely active on social media, regularly posting various conspiracy theories, including those related to the US presidential election, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the conflict in Ukraine.
In particular, he accused the US Democratic Party of rigging the 2020 elections, “global elites” of trying to “reset the world order,” and doctors of harming the coronavirus vaccine. DePape saw anti-Semitic undertones in the conflict in Ukraine.
