The Prosecutor General’s Office declared the Lithuanian organization Free Russia Forum undesirable in the Russian Federation. According to the department, the activities of the organization pose a threat to the security of the country.
“Based on the results of the study of the materials received, it was established that the activities of the foreign non-governmental organization Free Russia Forum (Republic of Lithuania) pose a threat to the constitutional order and security of the Russian Federation. The Prosecutor General’s Office decided to recognize the activities of the Lithuanian organization as undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation,” the ministry said in a statement. The Free Russia Forum was established in March 2016 in Vilnius, according to the organization’s website. It was organized by Garry Kasparov and Ivan Tyutrin (recognized as foreign agents).
